Let's go fly a kite!
"You can have your own set of wings
With your feet on the ground
You're a bird in a flight
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite.
Oh, oh, oh!
Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height!
Let's go fly a kite and send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
I wanted to teach Carly how to fly a kite and for about a week...no wind whatsoever! So, last week when the wind picked up (right before a rain storm) we ran outside and let our spirits soar high into the air. Looking back, it probably wasn't a good idea to fly a kite in such gray & gloomy weather, but it sure was FUN!

You are SUCH a good mom. Ellie made a kite at school and I always put off taking it out. now I feel guilty. I need to find more time to actually PLAY with my kids. Thanks for the reminder.
love this! love kites. but if you've read Kite Runner you learn that kites can be serious business - they tie the string with broken glass shards and try and cut the other kites in the sky down...are you ready for the metaphor - there are people and things in life that will try and bring our kite down - but we have to try to keep soaring!
