potpourri.

I know this is post is not original. I'm stealing from Emily's-Random Thoughts and Angie's- Tangents and I've created my "potpourri" post. Here's my potpourri for the week...

1. I went to the Urgent Care clinic here in Antofagasta because my dizziness turned into full-blown vertigo. They said that I had an inner ear infection which was causing the "spinning." They gave me a shot and I'm taking 3 pills and ear drops. The Amoxicillin they gave me is Strawberry flavored. That's right... a pill that's flavored! Why don't we have these back in the States?

2. Wesley just pooped in the tub. What do YOU do when this happens? Not fun.

3. The young girls here have "interesting" haircuts. Have you ever seen that movie, Laws of Attraction? Do you remember Parker Posey's character? She had a female style mullet. Well, that's the "in" style here. I think I'll remain "out" of style for the time being.

4. I think this is fairly common in 3rd world countries, but there are dogs everywhere here (at least Ammon said it was common in Venezuela). They are very docile but apparently about a year ago the population was getting out of hand. The local government tried to step in by putting out poisonous meat on the streets. This didn't go over very well with the locals as they were forced to watch these poor dogs die all over the city.

5. We've been looking at cars this week since we only have about 1 more week with our rental. Cars here don't loose their value like they do in the States. We've looked at both new and used and there is a small if any difference in price. Also, car loans here are outrageous! The average APR on a car loan is 22-24%! Needless to say, we're trying to get a loan from a bank in the States.
