child of God.

"All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny." The Family: A Proclamation to the World.

This is the first hymn I ever learned. I sang it as a child and I continue to sing it today. I sing it as a lullaby to my children. As a family, we sing it every Sunday on our drive to church. I sing it when I am of need of peace and comfort or as a reminder of who I am. I know the words are inspired and true. I know...

I am a child of God.

this is the song we're learning in primary this month, and as i've gone over the words with the kids each week i realize it's a song almost everybody knows. what i've tried to focus on is what they mean. we really ARE children of God. what a neat thing for kids (and grown-ups) to know! thanks for the songs!!

We had FHE tonight. Kaylee taught the lesson on being children of God. We took the song verse by verse and shared our favorite points in each verse. It was neat hearing everyone's thoughts.

I love the instrumental version of the song. It's funny this is also the song I sing to my little one. I always love to read your posts. Thank you so much for sharing.

I am always so grateful for your Sunday upliftment! Also one of my favorite songs and a common lullaby at bedtime. I overheard Dallin singing it today in the bathroom... it is nice to know our kids can be filled with songs like these (in and out of the restroom :). Thanks for the post!

"I am a Child of God" is the new theme for primary this year. This Sat. we're having one of our quarterly activities and we're going to teach the childen this song in sign language. Wendy's ward's senior primary is learning it in spanish and Wendy said it sounds beautiful.
It's so simple, but so powerful!
