footsteps.
"... Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven? And Jesus called a little child unto him in the midst of them and said, Verily I say unto you, except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:1-4)

Being a mother has broadened my understanding of this scripture. I am continuously amazed by the faith of my children. Children are hopeful, teachable, forgiving, cheerful, and they love unconditionally. I am humbled by their example and I think I'm learning more from them than they are from me. I hope that one day my children choose to follow in my footsteps, but today I'm learning and growing by following in theirs.
Their footsteps are changing me.

That young girl in the video was one of Jim's ancestors. She was my daughter's age when she came to America, without family, to join the saints in Utah. Her story is really courageous. I am amazed be the pioneer stories in Jim's family, but grateful for the "pioneers" in my family.
Amazing post Lynette. That story made me cry. How can I ever think my life is hard?
