summertime.

We went to Hornitos today. We spent the day beach combing, making castles, and soaking up the sun. It was a relaxing day in a beautiful place.

Welcome to Playa Hornitos.

The entire beach was surrounded by these massive rock cliffs.
It was beautiful!

The water was so clear, it was amazing.

Carly loves the sand and surf...

...Wesley does not!
He wouldn't even put his feet down.

But, he did love wearing mom's shades--too funny!
(Man, I need a tan!)

So Cute! Tracie and I were laughing at how Carly loves everything and Wes is afraid of everything! he looks so cute in your glasses! (So do you!)

I also had to laugh at you saying how clear the water is. Any water is clear compared to Galveston! But yes, it looks idyllic. Glad you had fun, and I hope Wes will come to enjoy life more as he gets older. :)

Seeing Carly at the beach reminds me of...me! Being from Southern CA, the beach was a BIG part of growing up. (There may have even been a few times that I skipped school to take advantage of a particularly sunny day!) I'm sure Wes will soon discover the joys of the beach, the constant sound of the waves, crying of the gulls (do you have gulls?), the smell of the salt air, the feel of the sand. (How does your sand feel? Is it fine and smooth, rough and rocky?)

You all look like you're loving your experiences "south of the border!" Love, Mom B

I agree, Lynette, you do look very thin. I love the sunglasses, too!
Wish I could come hang out with you for the day (without my sick kids). Miss you.
