make this tonight.
As promised, here is my muy famoso green sauce recipe.
Ingredients:
2 medium (1 large) ripe avocados
1/4 diced large onion
2 diced garlic cloves (about 1 - 2 tsp. diced garlic)
1 handful of chopped cilantro
1 jalapeño pepper
1 teaspoon salt
about 1 cup of water
a dash of lemon juice
Directions:
Dice avocado, onion, garlic, and cilantro.
Toss into blender/food processor.
Chop jalapeño pepper.
Add the diced pepper and 1/2 of it's seeds to blender/food processor.
Add water.
Blend.
Add salt and a dash of lemon juice.
Blend again.
**Add more water and salt until you like the texture and taste. You can also add more jalapeño seeds if you like it hot (and some like it HOT!).
You really can't mess this up. Add more or less of everything, until it tastes good to you!
Enjoy this sauce with tortilla chips, tacos, burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, or anything with tortilla, cheese, meat, or vegetables.

Looks yummy! I am going to make that and when I do I will let you know the outcome. Hey, got any other yummy recipes you want to share?
mmmmm, looks delish! i still haven't made this even though i've had the recipe for a while now. i'll have to try it this week!
Oh, I love it! Now that I finally have the jalapeño peppers I need to make it green (instead of the baby-poop orange the hot peppers turn it).
i'm going to add it to my recipe book.
looks yummo
that looks and sounds great! and what has lynette ever made that's not de-freakin-licious!?
we're gonna try it soon, and make sure to tell you how much we love it! :D
sounds yummy! do you have a good (and easy:) enchilada recipe to go with it?
time to change next week's menu- gotta make something "Mescan" just so I can use this recipe!
MMMMM...me gustaria probar esta salsa que parece tan rica. I will be making it soon :)
And I LOVE the link to Jim Gaffigan, he is so funny. We love the monologue he does about hot pockets, cake, and cinnabun.
Man that loks good, And look at how great you are at Spanish now ;D
It looks fantastic, but anything with more than 3 ingredients is too much for me. Maybe I'll pass it on to my husband ;)
Thank you!!
Wendy got these yummy burritos from Costco the other day and we were just talking about how great this sauce would be drizzled on top.
We're going shopping today and the ingredients are on my list!!
Yummy!
tracie made some delicious burritos last night, and, since it was st. patrick's day we wanted something green, so we made the sauce! it was DEEEEEELICIOUS, only i think we got some kind of super potent death jalapeño, as we put in less than 1/2 its seeds, and it burned MY mouth! and as you know, i'm no hot food lightweight.
also, any tips on keeping it fresh? i noticed this morning the top is brown. we put it in a tupperware in the fridge, though i'm starting to think a baggie would have been smarter. o well. it was so good we're definitely going to make it again.
