my favorite things.
My friend (and Ammon's cousin) Mandy tagged me to share my favorite things of the week. Here are my picks:
1. Amaretto Gelato
I'm not the biggest fan of Chilean cuisine, but the one delicacy I believe they have mastered is gelato. Boy, oh boy, is this stuff good! Before we moved, I was addicted to Piccomolo's gelato, but Chilean gelato puts them to shame! My favorite flavor varies from week to week, but this week it's Amaretto. Divine!
2. Boyce Avenue
I found Boyce Avenue while I was searching for a video on youtube. They cover dozens of popular songs and in my opinion, some of them sound better than the original. You can download their covers at iTunes (Acoustic Sessions Vol. I and II ) as well as their album 'All You're Meant to Be'. My favorite tracks: 'On My Way' and 'All the While'.
3. The Bachelorette
Why do I watch this show? With exception to Trista and Ryan, it never works out. Nevertheless, I'm addicted and I'm cheering for DeAnna to finally get her fairytale ending. I was really rooting for Richard, the self-confessed nerd of the group, but DeAnna wasn't feeling any chemistry with him and she sent him packin'. Since then, I've diverted my energy into cheering for Jason, the single dad. Next week's episode promises break-ups, breakdowns, and the biggest shock of the season and I say, "Bring it on!"
4. The Pioneer Woman (I saved the best for last!)
The Pioneer Woman has been one of my favorites for months now and this is why--
Ree's a city gal who traded in her high heels for country life and never looked back, primarily due to a her husband whom she calls, Marlboro Man (not a smoker, just a reference to his rugged good looks). Her website is a catalog of the day to day thrills of cattle ranching, recipes, photography, and her real life love story, "Black Heels to Tractor Wheels". In short, The Pioneer Woman.com is a blend of all things related to country life seasoned with Ree's brilliant writing style and slapstick humor. This pioneer woman does it all! I've spent endless hours reading old posts, inhaling every word. Why? Because I love the Pioneer Woman. I've attached links to a few of my favorite Pioneer Woman posts below. Go check them out and before you know it, you'll be in love too!

Pioneer Woman is always a favorite, thanks for introducing me to her! I am also really loving my husband this week--he got a real baby-sitter tonight, only the third time we've EVER done that (my parents always watch them). I'm also loving Michael Buble and The Bachelorette right now.
Pioneer Woman?? How do you find this stuff? It looks really cool though so I'm glad you did. I love gelato too...especially because it's so satisfying in small portions!
Lynette you know me... I love Bachelorette. My favorite though is Bachelor because I love watching girls fight.
I liked Richard on the Bacherlorette too! Oh well, I guess I can get behind the single dad.

Im so jealous the gelato there is better. Youll have to send me some. I had a dream I came to visit you, it was a really weird dream but I woke up sad that I am not in a position in my life to be able to come visit. Gosh darn these big bellies.

Ammon and I were just talking the other day about how sad it is that no one will come visit us here. It's been an amazing experience and something that we wish we could share with everyone. I say ditto to your growing belly, but I also say, "Darn those expensive airline tickets!"
I too have a secret obsession with the bachelor and bachelorette. i've sadly, never missed a season. and i too am rooting for Jason, i just love him. although i have a secret crush on graham...geez, who wouldn't!
i was hoping someone out there was watching the bachlorette this go round, because somehow i'm addicted!
