a letter to my love, in singapore.

My Dearest Love,

We missed you tonight at Wesley's preschool Christmas program. I wish you could have seen him. You would have been so proud. As he sang, I couldn't help but see you in his little smile and mannerisms and it made me miss you all the more.

Carly asked about you tonight as I piled extra blankets on her bed. She's excited to see what you bring back for her and to talk to you about your trip. At the end of our conversation she paused. And then, with a faded voice she said, "I miss daddy."

I know exactly how she feels.

I've thought a lot about how much I miss you this past week. How much easier and better you make my life. I missed you tonight as I put Lexie to bed. She cried extra long and hard this evening and I longed for an extra set of hands. Ones that know her routine and how to pat her back just so.

I miss your extra set of hands while I'm trying to juggle homework, dinner, and baths. I miss your helping hands when it comes to changing diapers, washing dishes, and folding the laundry. Hands that are always there to lift and lighten my load. Without hesitation.

But most of all, I miss those hands that love me. Hands that comfort me after a long day. Hands that hold me at night and show me that I'm yours. Hands that will hold onto mine forever and a day.

Thank you for being so wonderful. I need you and I miss you.

Come home soon!

All my love,
Lynette

P.S. Here's one of the songs from the program. Wesley's belly button makes an appearance! Enjoy!
