luck o' the irish.

In honor of my Irish heritage (and because it's Spring Break and I'm tired of Carly and Wesley saying "We're booooored"), I decided to celebrate St. Patrick's day with the kids.
We started our morning off with some Lucky Charms (the official breakfast cereal of leprechauns) and then Carly and I made rainbow cupcakes topped with chocolate gold coins (instructions here).
After lunch, we headed to Chuck-E-Cheese where the kids played with more gold coins & gathered their treasures.
Then, at dinner, I dyed their apple juice green and, as I type this, there are three little leprechauns jumping on our trampoline by the light of their enchanted green glow sticks.

How about you? Did you celebrate St. Patrick's Day? Are you wearing green?

You are the best mom ever!! I forgot that it was st. patrick's day and sent my kindergardener to school with no green. i remembered when I got home and had to run back to the school with a green shirt. You are amazing!! I wished that we lived closer.
What a fun day! I'm glad I caught the tail end of it.
Shame the kids didn't save me a cupcake though . . .
Tell Carly she did a great job on the cupcakes - and tell Wes and Lexie that they did a great job with the glowsticks!
Your photos are really something, man. REALLY. And, FUN! That sounds like a really great day! We celebrated with a looong drive from Utah to New Mexico and Mcdonald's for dinner.
So fun! I love the cup cakes! You always make everything beautiful... even a bowl of cereal! :)
I thought we would all die of green food coloring! Everything we ate was green or I made it green. I bought every gold foil candy they had at the store and filled clear glass containers on our table. I told the girls that a leprechaun came while they were at school. I don't think they really believe in Leprechauns, but they loved it!
