mostly sour.

It's 12:40 am and 101° outside. Seriously? Who wants to bet my electric bill is over $300 this month?

Ammon is traveling again which means I got to do homework, dinner, dishes, FHE, baths and bedtime all by myself. I'm so tired and yet, I can't fall asleep without him here. The house is too quiet and too creepy--I may or may not have a knife hidden under my pillow.

It is only the second week of school and Carly's already sick. She ran a high fever (102+) all weekend so I took her to the doctor and she was tested for strep. The culture came back negative which means no antibiotics, which means I have to endure another couple of days of "The Suite Life on Deck/Wizards of Waverly Place/Shake It Up" marathons. Yay me.

I'm struggling with whether or not I should enroll Lexie in a Mother's Day Out program this year. Part of me feels like I should keep her home and enjoy our one-on-one time together. And the other (much larger) part of me has visions of kid-free days dancing around in my head. Sing it with me, "Yeah, yeah, FREEDOM!"

In case you haven't noticed, I'm in a sour mood and I should really go to bed and sleep it off. But, before I go I want to share one bit of sugar with you--
I updated the music on my sidebar with my favorite Alternative tunes. Go check 'em out!
Those tunes are pretty much the only thing that kept me sane today.
**Note: These songs are best when listened to at full volume in order to drown out whining/crying children.

Awww, sweetie... You need to not feel guilty, but sign your littlest punkin up for the nursery school. It doesn't have to be every day. Having a break from ALWAYS being "the mom" will help refresh you and keep you happy... that's my outlook.
Ha! We're on the same wavelength here. What's the deal with traveling husbands? It needs to stop! I'm so exhausted at the end of the day but still can't sleep. I hate it.
You are beautiful.
My whole family is sick already too. Darn those school germs.
I say freedom!
Loving the music.
LOVE you and this post.
Ugh. Traveling hubby...I know the feeling! Dan's been gone for 6 weeks (off and on) all summer! He just got back from Austria and when he's gone, I don't sleep well which equals exhaustion the entire time he's gone. Hang in there! You're so pretty and your kids are very cute. Love your cute blog. In response to your question, I really love the slipcovers. Some say it's a royal pain to get the slipcovers back on after they're washed, but it's worth it to me to be able to wash them. I like that peace of mind knowing they can be cleaned when the kids start getting them a little "too" dirty. I don't know if it's the right way or not, but this works for me: After washing any slipcover, never dry it in the dryer... I always put it on the sofa wet.. It's always easier to get on that way, seeing how it's semi-stretchable when wet. Just be careful not to pop any seams while trying to get it into place! Then just let it air dry!
A linen slipcover sounds lovely! Can't wait to see a pic. I'm always a fan of linens and whites. So classy. I'm obsessed with whites/creams/linens. Good luck and hope that helped a little?
my electric bill came in the mail on tuesday.
$303.00
yeesh.
hope today is a little more sweet ;)
i *always* think you are.
You should have called me! Life's a roller coaster and when you have a low day it's always followed by a high. CHEESEY, I know... but it makes sense to me!
Love You!
