a quickie.

Hi all! Just a quick update.
Our house was busy today as I exercised my culinary skills in preparation for Thanksgiving. It went something like this--mix, dice, chop, mash, clean, repeat.
Tomorrow I'm bringing my family's traditional Cornbread Dressing, Paula Deen's Pumpkin Gooey Butter Cake, and Pioneer Woman's Mashed Potatoes to our family gathering. Mmmm-boy.
While I slaved away in the kitchen...
Wesley had a play date with his two superhero-loving cousins. They ran from room to room leaving a trail of destruction behind them. Their excited, happy yelling eventually turned into angry, upset yelling which ended in tears. It ALWAYS ends in tears--thus ending the play date.
Lexie chased after the boys. She's still young enough to confuse their running away from her as playing with her. Other than that, she maintained an hourly rotation of diaper changes and sippy cup refills. After each refill she'd say the cutest "Dank gu Mama" that you ever did hear. Melts me like butta!
Carly is still recovering from her Adenoid/Tonsillectomy she had last Friday. She is doing surprisingly well and we're hoping this finally ends our relationship with strep throat (8 times in 2 months for our family, but who's counting). Sorry strep. It's not you it's me. No, wait. It was totally you, never mind.
My hunk of a husband spent the day practicing his favorite past-time--teasing me until I finally yell, "Ammon!" in a high-pitched staccato at which point he laughs because he knows he's got me. (Or so he thinks.)
And that concludes our update. How was your Thanksgiving Eve?

Why does it always have to end in tears? Sad.
I love the teasing! I wish I could see it. So cute.
Zoe is like Lexie. The kids play "Make a run for it!" in which they scream "make a run for it!" while running away from Zoe. Sad. But cute.
Poor Carly! I really hope she feels better, strep is the worst. Stupid tonsils. I hope you had an awesome thanksgiving! I want some of your yummy food.
Oooh the butter pumpkin cake sounds yummy...how was it?
Call me soon... I need to laugh.
