clowning around.
Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches--those were the magic words for Carly's 5th birthday party. We celebrated her birthday on Saturday, but her real birthday is Tuesday the 4th. We had a clown come to entertain the kids, played games, ate lunch and cake, and then opened presents. I've never seen a kid receive so many gifts--I guess everyone was making up for our 1-2 year absence. The highlight for Carly was getting a cupcake smashed in her face (something she has been begging us to do ever since her cousin Ethan got a cupcake smashed in his face for his birthday back in June). It was an "over the big-top" party for our little clown!
Happy Birthday Little Carly-Boo!

cupcake in the face - love it! what a fun birthday!
happy birthday carly!!! holy cow, last time i saw you you were only ONE. crazy. (hey lynette, noah's birthday was the 3rd! neat!)
Look at all of those PINK presents! The cupcake in the face looks fun. When we were in Iowa, someone brought over these nasty tasting cupcakes and we let the big boys throw them at each other. Ellie has been dying every since, so maybe I'll let her do that on her birthday. Cute idea!
How did the clown work out? It looks like so much fun!
That girl got a haul! Not as much as she deserves, I'm sure, but, if you give her much more, she's in danger of complaining "I don't wike to open any more pwesents." Ok, she wouldn't, but there's no harm in being careful. I HAVE A BLOG NOW! Check it out!
