ft. worth zoo.

Our little family took another trip Dallas last week (sorry for the break in posts) to visit friends and to get a well needed vacation away from the anxiety surrounding our upcoming move. While we were there, we took the kids to the zoo--something that has been on our "To-Do" list for a while. Here are the highlights...

Our troop
(left to right: Wesley, Carly, Riley, Rowan, Cora, and Reese)

"The 3 Amigos"

Come feed the little birds, show them you care
And you'll be glad if you do. Their young ones are hungry, Their nests are so bare; All it takes is one dollar from you. Feed the birds, just one dollar a stick, One dollar, one dollar, one dollar per stick. Come feed the birds, you know that you should...

...until they attack you and your stick's lost for good!

One lonely gorilla.
I'm not sure if you can tell from this picture, but this is one pathetic ape. He sat there the entire time with his head hung, shoulders slumped, looking beneath his brow at his visitors. Who knows, maybe he was just shy.

Just before the camera snapped this picture, these giraffes were nuzzling. Awww.

Wesley's attempt at waking the Bengal tiger.

This guy reminded me of the crocodile in Peter Pan. See for yourself!

I always see people's pictures of the zoo and think it looks like so much fun, but for some reason everytime I take my kids, I end up hating myself.

The last time I was at the zoo, I was pregnant with Sadie -- dilated to a 5, 1oo percent effaced and I walked for 3 hours pushing a double stroller. Sadie came 2 weeks later. . .over due. Maybe that's why I hate the zoo. It's never done anything for me.

I love the fort worth zoo. My kids were too chicken to let the birds sit on them, but now thats all they talk about.
