latin beat.

I can't seem to get this song by Juanes out of my head. It's called, A Dios Le Pido (I ask God). The lyrics are poetic, the sentiment is warm, and the music is a fusion of latin and rock. I've included the translation below.

That my eyes open by the light of your face
I ask (this of) God
That my mother will not die and that my father remembers me
I ask God
That you stay at my side and that you never leave me again, my life
I ask God
That my soul does not rest when it is loving you, my heaven
I ask God

For the days that I have left and the nights that have not yet come
I ask God
For the children of my children and the children of your children
I ask God
That my people do not shed so much blood and rise again
I ask God
That my soul does not rest when it comes to loving you, my heaven
I ask God

A second more of life to give you and my whole heart to surrender to you
A second more of life to give you and by your side for ever be
A second more of life
I ask God

That if I die it is of love and if I fall in love it is with you
And that this heart is made of your voice
Every day I ask God
That if I die it is of love and if I fall in love it is with you
And that of your voice this heart can be
I ask God

side notes:

1. Ammon and I get a good chuckle every time we hear this song because at first I thought he was singing, "Adios Pepito" (I need Spanish lessons).

2. These are a few things Carly has asked for in her prayers lately: a wobbly tooth, the food to not be spicy or make her sick, a baby sister (no, I'm not pregnant), and to live in Chile for ages and ages!

The only problem is that I really like this song, so now whenever I hear it I am always thinking "Adiós Pepito."

I'm laughing just thinking about it now.

Hey, I think I could get to like this music. No wonder you can't get it out of your mind Linette.
Tell Carly that while I am happy she likes Chile so much but please don't stay there forever and ever. We would miss you too much.
