xanadu.

I turned the radio on here for the first time the other day and as I was scanning through the stations I heard Magic by Olivia Newton John. I was immediately taken back to 1987. I remember taking a cassette player out into the garage and skating around to the Xanadu soundtrack for hours. I could see myself skating in circles out in our garage (the polished cement floor was the next best thing to a skating rink) and I could almost feel the warm summer air ease through my hair. Although I was completely mesmerized by this movie as a child, to this day I can hardly recall the plot. I'm sure if I ever see Xanadu again it won't live up to my imagination, but somehow just listening to that song had the ability to transform me into a seven year old girl without a care in the world. Maybe that song really is magic.

Music: "Magic" by Olivia Newton John

oh my gosh i LOVED that movie! i used to rollerskate in our basement while i watched it (but rollerskates weren't allowed in the house so i had to be very quiet). now that i think about it, i'm pretty sure the movie was DUMB. i mostly remember the beginning where pieces of paper were flying through the wind...and rollerskating in a warehouse with boxes. what weird memories.

I've never seen Xanadu. I must be deprived. I can't roller skate either.

I was a little older than you when that movie came out, & I have seen it lately. When I saw it recently I had to laugh at how corny the movie was. I definitely remember how I loved that movie & the soundtrack. Check my blog this weekend and I'll post Hilton's 1st bday and Kaylee's baptism. We sure miss y'all at the family get togethers. Kaylee said things weren't the same without the Beckstroms at Hilton's party.

I have never this movie. I also have movies that take me back. There have been some movies that I've rewatched as an older, more mature person and it's funny how different, yet how familiar they are.
