dress up.

I think there are two types of moms: those who get dressed up everyday and those who don't. I'm definitely the latter. I putter around the house in sweats or pjs most of the morning until it's time to pick up Ammon for lunch. At which point, I quickly toss on some capris and a shirt, twist my hair up into a clip, and call it done.
Do you remember when getting ready for a dance or date with your friends was the highlight of the evening {especially when your date was a dud}. Sharing beauty tips and tricks with your girlfriends, blaring the music, laughing, being young and carefree. I have such fun memories of those times.
So, when did getting ready become a chore?
I just don't see the point. For the majority of the day it's just me and Wes, and I'm pretty sure he doesn't mind my piggy slippers and nightgown. Now, don't get me wrong, I still get gussied up on a regular basis... I just despise it. A half hour under the hairdryer, flat iron, and curling iron. And then, trying to apply makeup to the sweaty mass I call my face, which by the way is needing more and more help as the years pass by.
Although it would be easy to give up and let go, I'm trying my darndest to hold on to the cutie within. After all, she enjoys making an appearance every once in a while.

So, tell me, what kind of mom are you?

I love to lay around in my PJs as long as possible, but most days I go to the gym, so I want to shower as soon as I get home and then I figure I might as well get dressed since I have to pick Ellie up from school at some point.
So I'm somewhere in between. I long to wear PJs all day, but I get dressed up and do my hair anyway. Plus my girl friends are all skinny and gorgeous all the time so I feel pressure!
getting ready is definately a chore! Occasionally it's still fun if I get a new product, but that doesn't last long. I can normally get through the make-up routine and then I stop and twist my wet hair into a bun.
Lynette, I'd never put make-up on if I were you... you have perfect skin and always look beautiful!
I'm not a very good mom at all!
I don't get ready, I don't have kids, and I don't have ovaries!
Compared to me, you're the best!
No, seriously. Compared to anybody you're either the best or tied for the best.
for sure i'm a don't
I like COMFY. I get ready but I don't enjoy it. The blowdrying of my thick hair is what kills me. But I'm not the type that can twist it and pull it up unfortunately! (It's a non-pretty wavy.) If I had it my way, I would wear yoga pants, a t-shirt, pumas and lip gloss. And I try to as much as I can.
i am definitely in the second category. i wasn't until i got pregnant the first time and was so sick. i got ready and did my hair and make-up every day, even if i literally had nowhere to go. then i got sick and i've never been the same. my hair is so long it takes forever to do so i usually only do it on sundays, and the rest of the week pull it up wet. i do at least wear concealer and mascara most days (where do those dark circles come from?!) and usually wear sweats unless i'm definitely going somewhere. in fact it's almost 10:00 and i'm still in jammies and glasses. ugh.
Im sure you already know what kind of mom I am. OSmetimes I go to pick up the kids from school at 2:30 and realize I still have mascara smears under my etes from the last time I out makeup on however long ago that was. Usually I dont even think about it until I see one of Joshs fire buddies, then I get pretty embarrassed. I dont care what people think of me usually, I just dont want to embarrass him. I think it became a chore when you realize you already have someone who has to love you no matter what.
