highlights.

I have the best intentions to post on a daily basis, really I do, but life happens and I just get too busy or too tired to sit down and post something. Ironically, when I do have some spare time I feel like I have nothing to say. Weird how that works, huh?

So, here's some highlights from last week when I was too busy/tired to post.

A Parent/Teacher Conference-- I had a parent/teacher conference with Carly's teacher for a mid-year evaluation. First, the good news. Carly's progress report showed all A's (A=Always) with a few E's (Emerging) and her mid-year Evaluation Exam showed considerable growth and progress. The teacher even stated that Carly was the only student in the class that could complete some of the sections on the test. Carly's teacher also informed me that Carly is a loving member of the classroom, a natural leader, and that she follows directions easily. Now, the not-so-good news. The teacher also said that Carly sometimes misbehaves to make the other kids laugh and to get attention and that she draws and colors during class time. Let's see-- smart, independent, social, a class clown, and creative? Yep, that sounds like Carly!

A Doctor Visit-- Just as Wesley's stomach bug was finally gone Carly started running a high fever. I called the pediatrician and she came to our house and diagnosed Carly with strep throat. (No, you did not read that wrong. Doctors make house calls here in Chile and I cannot tell you how much I love it! It makes having a sick kid so much easier. Definitely one of the benefits of living here.) So, Carly spent a couple of days home from school and I spent a couple of days disinfecting the house and trying to keep Carly and Wesley from sharing germs. Fun for me!

A New Tooth-- It's official! I got my bling. What do you think?

Please excuse the second picture for being out of focus and please pretend you never saw my crooked bottom teeth. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to go slap on a couple of Crest Whitening Strips. Apparently it's far overdue!

A little bling in an otherwise perfect set of teeth! It's just lovely!

Go Carly!

Your bling is so far in the back I guess it won't show. Is it more sensitive to heat/cold?

I am tempted to move to Chile just for the house calls. I can't even imagine how incredible nice that would be. But, sorry about your sick kids. I can't wait to meet Carly someday. She sounds a lot like my Hannah.

Ooooh, love the WT tooth!

And I'm super jealous of the home visits. My kids got strep THREE TIMES last year. I almost shot myself. Oh and I got it once. I HATE strep throat!

Yeah for the bling! Who says you need crest whitening strips. Sorry about the strep issue. Ashley and I both had it this year. So not fun! House calls by a dr. Now that's service.
