birthday baby.
And it came to pass that the child grew.
And her mother wept.
And on the ninth day of the 12th month, they did rejoice.
And there was no contention among them.
A couple of weeks ago Lexie turned two.
TWO!
MY BABY IS TWO!
Please excuse me while I go have an ugly cry. Boo... hoo... hoo...
We celebrated her birthday in traditional Beckstrom family fashion--at Chuck E Cheese's.
I had grand ideas for her big day--the perfect little handmade party complete with pink tutus, paper hats topped with pom poms, homemade cupcakes and the like. But, in the end, I discovered that Chuck-E-Cheese's makes me a lazy party planner and here's why...
1. It's cheap! All you need is cupcakes, balloons, and $20 worth of tokens and you've got yourself a PAR-TAY!
2. No planning or preparation is necessary. Having a party at Chuck- E-Cheese's goes something like this.
Me: "Hey Ammon, you want to celebrate Lexie's birthday at Chuck-E-Cheese?"
Ammon: "Sure."
Done.
3. The mess stays there. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Back up. Let's read that again. THE MESS STAYS THERE! This should be reason #1 for having a party at Chuck-E-Cheese's. It is the foundation of my testimony in the Chuck. For this reason, I know the Chuck is true.
And it came to pass that after much rejoicing
They did leave the land of gold tokens
And the utter destruction therein.
And it did bring glad tidings unto them.
So let it be written.
So let it be done.
So let it be done.
