gifts

"The magi, as you know, were wise men--wonderfully wise men--who brought gifts to the Babe in the manger. They invented the art of giving Christmas presents. Of all who give and receive gifts, such as they are wisest. Everywhere they are wisest. They are the magi." -- O. Henry, The Gift of the Magi

Today was the last day of school before Winter Break so I sent the kids off bearing gifts for their teachers.

Since I usually post teacher gift ideas, I thought I'd share this one with you too.

This year I filled Chinese takeout boxes with Lindt truffles and Chocolate covered Peppermint Fortune Cookies. Then, I added a giftcard to PF Changs with a note attached that read,

"Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a new year filled with good fortune!"

These were so fun to make and their teachers loved them.

What has been your favorite gift to give/get this year?

P.S. Make sure you check out my favorite Christmas tunes in the sidebar!

Ooooh...pretty! Love the wrapping!! And the snow adds a nice touch! :) I wish I would have read this last week, Friday was my kids last day. This year they gave teachers a package of Riesen chocolate candies wrapped up with a card that said, "You're the riesen I love school". I couldn't resist b/c they're my favorite candy. Of course Wendy and I always give jewelry for everything also. :)

It looks gorgeous! I bet your kids teachers looove you. My favorite gift is my new CAMERA that I got in the mail yesterday. Yes it's for Christmas but I haven't had a camera since April--you better believe I opened that bad boy the moment I shut the door. And it's awesome!

My favorite gift to give this year is Dave's kindle. He doesn't even want it but once he gets it he's going to be so excited. It reads out loud so it can read to him while he drives to work. Awesome, right?

Merry Christmas! I looove your posts, so glad you're back (at least for now. :)

I really like what I've seen of your blog so far...very creative. Ima kindergarten teacher (first year after many years of teaching art and 5th grade) and I got some amazing and very sweet teacher gifts...I always feel like parents do waaaaay too much. I've thought about asking parents to buy books for our classroom or donate to a charity (probably Relay for Life) instead, but I worry that they will do that and *still* buy personal gifts. What are your thoughts as a parent?
