hello.
Do you ever wonder who visits your blog? I do. I check my sitemeter about once a week and for the most part I recognize people and places I love. However, from time to time, I encounter unfamiliar locations like Alabaster, Alabama or Fort Stewart, Georgia. Instantly, my mind floods with questions. Who is this wonderful stranger? How did they find me? Are they a friend of a friend of a friend? What do they think of my little life? Do they mock my incorrect and overused ellipses? Will they ever say hello? How I hope you'll say hello...
So, in an effort to get to know you, dear stranger, I'm asking you to leave a comment saying hello (pretty please). If you wish to maintain your anonymity, by all means leave an anonymous comment. But, if you're feeling a bit impulsive and carefree, login and leave your name (I'll be sure to visit your blog and return the favor!). Regulars, please leave a comment as well, you know I just adore your comments! So, throw caution to the wind and comment, comment away! Because although I'm far from home, far from all the people and places I love, a comment from a friend (or a friendly hello from a stranger) makes the distance feel a little smaller.
Oh, and dear stranger...
Welcome!
(as long as you're not a pervert or a weirdo.)

You are too cute! It's amazing how the Internet connects family, friends, and acquaintances all over the world.
You do a terrific job of making everyone feel welcomed by your blog. Everyone except for perverts and weirdos that is, but who needs 'em?
i'm not a pervert but i may be a weirdo....but i'll say hello anyway! LOVE your blog. and i'm so happy when i open google reader.....my breath catches...there's a post by lynette!! i can't wait to read it!
i visit all the time. your kids are getting SO big. i can't believe you're a grown-up. i'm sure not.
Hi Lynette. I hope you get lots of comments on this post introducing you to all your readers. I am sure your wonderful creative witty blog is what has them coming back again and again.
Hi Lynette, I visit all the time and have never commented since I don't know you. My name is Peggy and I live in Denver. I am Emily's favorite aunt on her Mom's side. (You didn't know that did you Em?) I love reading about your new adventures in a strange land and your kids.
Ok, here goes! I was kind of nervous to comment, but your posts are always so honest and real, that I decided to go for it. You'll probably think I'm a weirdo, but I promise I'm not! I know it might seem strange for your husband's ex-girlfriend to be reading your blog, but I found it one day not too long ago and now I love visiting because you're a terrific writer and I think it's interesting to see what things are like in Chile. I hope you don't mind, and I wanted to say that you seem like a really amazing woman, and Ammon is lucky to have you. :)
Hi...it's just me. I'm really hoping to find out who all of your secret admirers are!
For sure I'm one of them.
I love, love, love reading your blog!
Hi Sugie! I am a weirdo and a pervert, but I'm family, so you have to put up with me anyway! keep the good posts coming!
Welcome Poodle, Jami, and Peggy!
P.S. People are cheating! I checked my sitemeter and people are looking and not leaving comments. I see you!
Guilty. I like watching the cute videos of your kiddos!
I've been bad about commenting, but you know I'm a Lynette Lover!
Hi Lynette! My name is Kellie and I'm an old roomate of Lori Woodley(used to be Monson). I found your blog through hers. I really like your comments on life and kids! I have a 1 yr. old daughter and can completely sympathize with you on lots of things! I also love how you comment on Chile! I served my mission in Uruguay, and it seems like there are lots of similarities between the two countries! Our blog is private (because I'm afraid of perverts and wierdos!) But if you would like to be added to my list, let me know!!
Welcome Royal Buffington's and Kellie!
you already know that the little green dot just south of San Francisco is me! but, i always comment, i can't help myself...i just adore you and your words!
I love your blogs and check all the time hoping to read a new post from you... here's to missing my old Katy Texas friend.
PS- I love this post idea. I'm quilty of clicking on other peoples blog contacts and cruising strangers blogs. It's so fun to see other peoples templates and hear their stories.
I have to admit I check in on your blog from time to time! I've always wondered about people who visit my blog too... good idea:)
Oh & I'm liking the music on your list!
Ir eally wanted to cheat and read it with out leaving a comment, just to keep the mystery alive. Whats in all the fun if there is no guessing left, but oh well, I guess Ill say hi anyways, and by the way I think you passed on the blu bug, so Im blaming you for this feeling that wont go away!!! Now youll have to fix it? Maybe some tips of how you fixed yours!
I love your blog too. So glad Emily linked to yours so I could get to know you better. Too bad I didn't get to know you better when you lived a hop, skip, and a jump away. But it's fun learning about Chile while you're there.
Hi Lynette -
I'm your cousin (still family even though I've only seen you twice :) So I hope that gives me permission to browse your blog because I think it is so so cute. You also converted me to using google's blogspot for our family blog :) You have a great writing style and your kids are super cute. Say "hi" to Ammon for me!
love, mandy (beckstrom)
How fun! Wouldn't it be awesome if you got this many comments each post!! But unfortunately we all have time limits-but its fun to wish!
How fun to see who all reads your blog! I saw my little AZ dot -- hopefully that's my dot. I don't want to share with anyone else ;p
Anyway, you know I love reading your blog. It's one of the blogs that I get excited to check because I know they'll be something clever or unique.
Hi Lynette and your cute family-
I've thought about you since seeing Ammon forever ago at Macey's in S.F. of all places, didn't get around to saying hi (intentions were to announce baby arrival and look, he's almost 1! oops!), and now you're a world traveler. Ok, so I found your blog from Ingrids and after your invite to say hi, how can one not? So "Hello" from Utah!
Nikki
Welcome Christie, Mandy, and Nikki!
Hey Lynette,
So I've checked out your blog a couple of times. Heidi emailed me last week and sent a link to her blog and told me of other people's blogs I can check out that are listed on hers. So it's been fun looking at yours and Wendy's and Tricia's and Melanie's! One of these days I'll do a blog I just really don't know how to. So anyways it's good to see what you've been up to I hope you guys are loving it in Chile. What a neat experience that must be to live overseas for a while. We're in wylie, tx. So anyways is there some rule like you have to have your own blog to look at everyone else's? If so I've been violating!
-cindy gilbert
Welcome Cindy! How are you?
And, No. There is no rule. I've just always been curious as to who reads my blog (from Wylie, TX). I guess now I know!
Wow!
I need to set up a site reader!
Will you help me? I tried and for some readon it's not leaving any reports.
Anywho... maybe I DON"T want to know who's looking! J/K!
You're everyone's blogging inspiration!!
:)
I'm good! how are you? I'm staying busy with my boys. Braden's almost 3 (march 12th) and Spencer just turned 5 months old :)They're so much fun. Yeah so lately while Ben's busy studying for tests or writing papers (he's getting his MBA)I'll check out people's blog and man it looks like everyone has one!
oh that last comment was from me...cindy
OK, I'll admit I've been stalking your blog for a while now... but you already knew that.
Hi...I always love reading your blog...you have a real talent to make us feel like we are just in the other room, sharing in your life. Love, Mom B
I don't know how I missed this post! I gave up checking my stat counter a while ago.. when I tried this and nobody replied and the wondering left me mad.
It's been really great catching. I can't believe it's been 10 years since we have "known" each other. Even then, I was in a really strange transition. :)
I love reading about your life.
And although I'm in Park City, my dot usually shows up in Virginia or something crazy. Not sure how that works..
I love reading your blog :) You have the best things to post about and usually brings me a smile. Especially those days when I have to work in the ER. So, I am sure you will see a bunch of Texas Children's Hospital addresses on there. I have nothing else to do on Sat. and Sunday. So, keep blogging on Sat. and Sunday :)
hi, I discovered your blog when my husband and I were considering moving from australia to antofagasta. I was googling to find info on Antofagasta and found some questions your husband had posted on a website. The questions were similar to mine, but I did not find and answers, so I googled Ammon's name and found his blog, which led me to your blog. The timing was perfect as this was last October/November when you were brand new to Antofagsta, and the insights from an ex-pat parents point of view were so relevant. In the end we moved to Santiago instead of Antofagasta (we may move there later, depending on work requirements). We have been here for just over 3 weeks, we love it, but I still look at your blog regularly. Being from a fairly different background to you, some of the things you find different are normal for me, but I am sure there are plenty of things that I find to be strange that are totally normal to you.
Thanks for your insights!
Steph
Welcome Steph! Wow, I'm so glad you found my blog! Santiago is wonderful! We would have LOVED to move there, but it wasn't an option for us. I'm assuming your husband works for BHP, but I could be wrong. I'd love to hear more about your experiences and how they differ from mine. Best wishes!
yes you are right, my husband is with BHP, such a great opportunity. We are fortunate to be here for 3-5 years, plenty of time to really feel like we have experienced Chile. We love Santiago (3 weeks in), and the biggest change for us is of course the language. The other major difference for us is the size of the city. We moved from a very very small town, so living in the city is a big change, but a good one. I am not yet a blogger, but as all 3 of my girls are at school this year for the first time, perhaps I will start, it seems like a great way of keeping in touch with everyone around the world. I will let you know if I do (and I may "borrow" some of your wonderful ideas).
Steph
Steph,
Sorry for the delay in my response--we lost power for about 6 hours (something I've grown accustomed to here in Antofagasta). I highly recommend blogging. It's a great way for me to stay connected with friends and family and meet wonderful people like you!
By all means, use as many ideas as you like. Good luck and let me know when you've got your blog up and running!
Don't be too alarmed about my dot showing up in Nigeria -- I promise I'm not running any scams, and you know me. Alice had told me about your blog and I had been meaning to check it out, but then Tricia found my blog and I saw the link to yours on her blog. Blogging is great -- I get to catch a glimpse of the lives of a lot of old/young friends. If you want to feel good about living in Chile, you can learn about my life in Nigeria. And I bet my power goes out more often than yours does. Of course, people speak English here, at least a variety with an accent I can usually decipher, so that does make a lot of things easier when you can communicate. But living overseas is an adventure and a great learning experience. Good luck with your adventure.
Welcome Carolee!
I take a look at your blog from time to time through Suzette's blog. You and your sisters have such cute blog headers...I am slightly jealous. I just think it is fun to read blogs. Daniel and I (and the kiddos) are just in Austin so maybe our dot was not real alarming. Keep posting!
Erin Weber
Welcome Erin!
